Flow Welcomes Interns for Summer Months

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (June 26th, 2018) --Twenty tertiary-level students will spend the next eight weeks working with Barbados’ leading telecommunications provider after they were accepted into the highly competitive Flow Vision Summer Student Experience Programme.

In an all-encompassing course, Flow will offer the students invaluable insight into their future careers in the areas of Information Technology, Sales and Marketing, Accounts and Finance, Legal and Regulatory, Human Resources and Corporate Communications.

“Flow Vision has become the cornerstone of our education-based initiatives and we are once again very excited to welcome a new cohort of students. All of them are very keen to learn and they have already demonstrated a great understanding of what we do each day to keep Barbados connected,” said Esther Tull, Human Resources Manager, Flow Barbados.

The company will also host weekly workshops aimed at providing added insight about the local and regional telecoms sector, while some of the students will also be assigned to C&W Business, the business-to-business arm of Cable & Wireless Communications.

“We received hundreds of applications for Flow Vision, so this is an extremely competitive programme and we will be providing the successful candidates with every opportunity to learn and experience as many facets of the telecommunications industry as possible,” added Tull.

“While they are with us, we will also work with them to improve their soft skills such as creative thinking, problem solving, communication, teamwork, time management and their overall approach to being a young professional. They are all bright, articulate youngsters and we are very much looking forward to what the next two months will bring.”

Twenty year-old Morgan Blackett, who recently completed his Associate Degree at the Barbados Community College and is now heading to Ryerson University to study Business Management, said he was looking forward to his time with the company.

“Flow is Barbados’ number one telecommunications company and the technology field has several different areas, so I’m very excited to learn more about a company that has such a big impact on everyday life in Barbados. I’m grateful for the opportunity and I’m proud to have secured an internship with Flow,” he said.
