How to Connect TV to Broadband

With more and more streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime now available, most people like having a TV that they can connect to broadband in their home in order to easily stream their favorite TV shows and movies. The good news is that you do not always need a smart TV to connect your TV to broadband, either.

If you have a smart TV, connecting it to the Wi-Fi network in your home is usually quite straightforward. You should go to the settings in your TV menu and look for an option that says ‘network’ or similar. You will then be able to scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks in the area, find your home Wi-Fi network, and enter the password. Once connected, you will then be able to get online with your TV and connect to apps like Netflix.

If you do not have a smart TV at home, the good news is that you do not always need to go out and buy one in order to connect your TV to broadband. If your TV has HDMI ports, you can use a smart device such as an Amazon Fire Stick or Roku that is plugged into your TV to connect it to the internet and allows you to access online streaming apps. You can purchase smart sticks online or in many stores. Simply plug the stick into your TV’s HDMI port, connect it to power, and set it up. To connect it to the internet, head to the settings in your smart stick’s menu and look for a ‘network option’. This will allow you to scan for Wi-Fi networks nearby. Find your network, select it, and enter the password. This will then be saved on the smart TV stick for future use, so that your TV is always connected.
