Here's a list of remote control basics.

Power

  • Turn on your TV
  • Press the TV button
  • Turn on your set top box
  • Press the CBL button
  • Turn on your VCR
  • Press the VCR button

Audio

  • Set up your audio
  • Press the MENU button until the Settings Menu appears. Press the downward triangle to highlight Audio Preference and SELECT/OK to display options. Highlight and adjust each option to your liking. For help with options, press MENU.
  • Adjust the volume
  • Press the +VOL- button
  • Changing channels

Channel surf

  • Press the +CH- button
  • Select a specific channel
  • Use the number buttons to enter a channel number
  • Select the previous channel
  • Press the LAST button
  • Surf Favourites
  • First, make a list of your favourite channels in the Settings Menu. Then, while viewing your TV, press the FAV button to surf from one channel to the next. Please note: you may have to program your remote control buttons before being able to use them.

To view Parentally Controlled channels, follow these steps:

  • Press the menu key on your STB or Remote Control and use the CHAN keys to scroll
  • ENTER #2 Parental Control
  • Enter Password
  • Press CHAN keys to highlight the channel(s) you want to remove from the parental control; press SELECT
  • Press ENTER
  • Take off and then put on STB to deactivate Parental Controls

These channels are now free for viewing by all. Don't forget when you are through viewing to reset the channels you want blocked.

It's important to note that the volume on your television should be turned to the mid-way level manually or by using the television remote control. Volume adjustments thereafter should be done using the volume control on your STB only. If the volume on your television set is too high it will create a buzzing sound.

Follow the steps below to help safeguard against damage during a hurricane:

  • Unplug your television from the electrical outlet on the wall
  • Cover your television in plastic and if necessary place it in a secure area in your home.
  • Unplug your SET TOP BOX from the electrical outlet on the wall
  • Use the excess cable from the outlet on the wall and wrap it around the SET TOP BOX
  • Place your SET TOP BOX, excess cable and remote control in a plastic bag, doubling it for extra security
  • Secure your box against the wall until the passage of the storm

To use your set top box, follow the instructions below:

  • Ensure that your television is stationed on channel 3 or the video input at all times.
Turning Your Television Set On and Off:
  • Turn ON the power for your television set
  • Turn ON your Set Top Box using the power key on your Set Top Box (STB) or Remote Control
  • To turn OFF your STB, simply press the power button on your STB or Remote Control
Channel Selection:
  • Channels can be selected from using the CHAN "UP" and "DOWN" arrow keys on your STB or Remote Control (remote controls vary).
Volume Control:
  • When you press the VOL keys on your STB or Remote Control the VOLUME bar displays on your screen and you can increase or decrease the volume to suit your comfort level.
 

With the Parental Control browsing modes, you can define browsing times and web sites that are suitable for your teenagers and small children. You can give your teenagers more freedom to browse the Internet while having tighter restrictions on your small children's online activities. You can create

and set up the Parent, Teenager, and Small Child browsing modes either with Start‐up Wizard during the installation.Small Child browsing mode - The Small Child browsing mode is active after you have installed the product or restarted the computer. When the Small Child mode is active:

  • Anyone using the computer can access only those web sites that you have specifically allowed.
  • Access to the Internet is allowed only during the scheduled time. All the web sites that youhave allowed are listed on Parental Control Start Page that opens in the browser when the Small Child mode is active.

Teenager browsing mode - When the Teenager browsing mode is active:

  • Anyone using the computer can access all web sites, except those that contain restricted or unwanted content, for example on drugs or adult material.
  • Access to the Internet is allowed only during the scheduled time. If you have created both Small Child and Teenager browsing modes on your computer, tell your teenagers the password you created for the Teenager mode. When they enter the password, they can browse web pages that do not contain restricted material, and you have specifically allowed.

Note: If you turn Web Page Filter off, your teenagers can visit web pages and sites despite their content.

To set your Parental Controls, follow the steps below:

  • Once you have selected your password, you can now place channels under Parental Control.
  • Press the menu key on your STB or Remote Control and use the CHAN keys to scroll ENTER #2 Parental Control
  • Type in your password; Then press ENTER ENTER #1 Parental Control Guide
  • Use the CHAN keys to highlight the channel(s) you want to block
  • Press SELECT after each channel you choose to block
  • Repeat this process for as many channels as you would like to place under parental control
  • Press ENTER
  • Take off and then put on STB to activate the Parental Control
  • You have successfully blocked the channels you want under Parental Control.

    To set your Parental Controls password, follow the steps below:

  • Press the menu key on your STB or Remote Control and use the CHAN keys to scroll.
  • ENTER #7 Control Panel
  • ENTER #4 Set Password
  • ENTER # 1Parental Control
  • Enter your 4 digit password using the numbers 0-9; then press ENTER
  • Enter your 4 digit password again for verification; and press ENTER once more
  • Your password is now set
