Shutdown of Flow 2G Network
In keeping with the international standards of retiring legacy networks to make way for the transition to new generation technologies, Flow will be moving customers to the more efficient LTE technology that will provide a much improved customer experience.
Consequently, we will commence the phased shutdown of our 2G network on September 30, 2022. This means that phones and other devices, including SIM cards, some tracking devices, dongles, and wingles, which utilize 2G technology only, will eventually no longer be operable on our Flow network. As a result, you will not be able to send and receive texts, make and receive calls or utilize mobile data services.
To ensure that you stay connected and have continued access to your current services, you will be required to do the following:
- Upgrade your device to one with 4G LTE/5G technology
- Upgrade your SIM card to LTE
We recommend that your upgraded device be VoLTE (Voice over LTE) capable as this will enable access to roaming services while travelling.
Please note that services will still be accessible locally using 3G SIM cards and devices.
In order to assist with your transition, we have a variety of mobile handsets available and invite you to visit any of our Flow stores where our representatives will be delighted to assist you with the process.

To check if you are using a 2G device, please use the following steps. If the network mode has “2G Only” as the only option, then the device only supports 2G.
Alternatively, you may dial *555#, then press Send and you will receive a message with the network mode of your device.
