What is the Handset Installment Plan (HIP)?

HIP allows you, once eligible, to get a high-end device with a low monthly payment plan instead of paying the full cost upfront.

What is the minimum down payment required?

You must pay a minimum deposit of 20% of the device’s retail price before the device is released. Up to 50% can be paid up front.

Is there an activation or service fee?

Yes. A one-time HIP Activation fee of 1,560 JMD must be paid at the time of enrollment, along with the 20% downpayment.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If no payment is made, your device will be locked 5 days after your bill due date, with access limited to emergency calls only.

Can I remove or change my SIM card?

No. SIM removal or replacement will trigger a device lock.

Can I cancel or downgrade my mobile plan during the installment period?

No. Downgrading to an ineligible plan or canceling your mobile line will result in an early termination fee, and your device will be locked.
