Flow together with satellite provider Starlink has collaborated to offer the Flow Essential Service “the Service” a best effort basic connectivity emergency service to allow Flow mobile customers the ability to send SMS and text communication.

This facility offers a direct to mobile service to customers in the event the satellite mobile network is unavailable due to in infrastructural damage in the wake of Hurricane Melissa. The Service is not subject to the General Terms and Conditions of the Flow services.

The Service is provided only to customers who have a VOLTE capable mobile device with the service actively enabled. You will receive a notification display if you have a non-VOLTE capable device, once we are able to activate the Service.

SMS, text messaging will be available immediately. At this time, voice services and Whatsapp messaging will not be available.

When the Flow Essential Service activates, your phone will display “Flow Essential” network name confirming that the emergency network is available.

No, there is no cost attached to using this service for Flow prepaid and postpaid customers. This service will be considered an essential Service and is therefore free to the public in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

Flow will continue this service until further notice. We reserve the right to discontinue this Service without notice upon the return of its network to full capacity without any liability to its customers.
